Samoa is taking another important step towards a greener and more resilient tourism industry with the launch of a dedicated solar lighting initiative supporting tourism businesses across the islands.
With approximately SAT$250,000 committed through the New Zealand High Commission’s Sustainable Tourism Resilience and Recovery Programme, the initiative will help local tourism operators adopt renewable energy solutions, reduce electricity costs and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
Working in partnership with the Samoa Tourism Authority and the Samoa Hotels and Hospitality Association, the programme will support businesses across different accommodation categories, making sustainable energy solutions more accessible throughout the sector.
A fantastic example of how Samoa is combining environmental responsibility, business resilience and sustainable tourism development to protect its beautiful islands for future generations.
