La Seu d’Urgell and Sort, two small towns in Terres de Lleida, in the Catalan Pyrenees, will host the 2027 International Canoe Federation (ICF) World Championships.
The International Canoe Federation will make history in 2027 when La Seu and Sort in Catalonia host world championships in three different paddling categories during a combined event.
The Board of the ICF meeting in Budapest was impressed by the breadth of the La Seu submission, and its vision of a reduced carbon footprint for a major sporting event.
The 2027 International Canoe Federation World Championships is an opportunity for the sports tourism industry in the Pyrenees, building on the experience earned by hosting various championships over the last 50 years.
