The Dominican Republic UK Embassy in collaboration with the Centre for Export and Investment of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD) and the Ministry of Agriculture, exhibited fresh Dominican Republic produce at the London International Produce Show, 6-8 June 2018 in London.

During the inauguration of the Dominican pavilion presented by the Embassy, sponsored by the CEIRD and Tropifruit, Ambassador Dr Federico Cuello Camilo highlighted the untiring efforts of the government to promote Dominican produce in the British market, as part of this year’s campaign. Stating that "The United Kingdom is the main bilateral market we have in the European Union.

The British market is the main destination of Dominican bananas, with an increasing interest in avocados and mangoes, which are harvested at times of the year during which no other country has them and they can be here by plane in less than 9 hours from Punta Cana.

The fair is the event of the year that allows us to promote other fresh produce which is in great demand, such as our pineapple.  It attracts high calibre companies that purchase and distribute fresh produce in the United Kingdom.

At the early morning inauguration of the Dominican pavilion attended by ambassadors, business aggregates and representatives of importing companies, tasting ‘champola’, hot chocolate "La Criollita" Pro-Agro Dominicana, fruit salad, coconut bread and Santo Domingo coffee.
